The results for the 2011-12 academic year are now confirmed and it is very pleasing to note that this year we will have 29 graduates from the MA: DTCE – our highest-ever number! 9 of these are distance learners. All in all there were eight Distinctions among the graduates – also a record high – four of whom were on-campus and four distance learners.
Special congratulations should be made to Dave Gatrell who – as a distance learner – is one of this year’s recipients of the School of Education’s ‘Platt Prize’. This award is made to the top five students graduating from any of the School’s programmes, and the criteria for being nominated are quite exacting. That Dave has done this as a distance learner, being based in Hong Kong, shows that distance is no barrier to achievement.
Well done to him – and to all those who have successfully completed their studies on the MA: DTCE. We hope to see as many of you as possible at the graduation ceremony on 12th December, in Manchester. Pictures from the graduation ceremony will follow in due course!
MA: DTCE graduate Maria Manolopoulou is now working as an e-learning developer at the Kwik-Fit Training Academy. She has just started this blog with a post about educational video production (a course unit available on the MA: DTCE)… worth a read!
